Intermission

Oops! Seem to have to had to do some extreme soldering 🙂

I sampled a TLC5947DAP (basically, a common cathode 8×8 RGB LED driver) at the same time I requested the INA125. I opened it to see just how small it was and found this:

WTF!

WTF!

Hmm…

The blue bit was blue in May and it was still blue tonight. All seems a bit faptastic to me. Anyway, what are we dealing with here?

Small, innit?

That pad underneath had been concerning me. There was no way I was going to be able to bake this stuff, it was always going to be done with a soldering iron.

Oh, and a drill 🙂

Yup!

Yup!

I got that idea from a Maxim tutorial that was emailed to me the other day. What’s not to like?

Prepare to solder

Half-jobbed job

Can’t see anything wrong under the microscope, all looks good. We shall see, I guess.

Whatever that “indicator” sheet does, it does do it. 60% is now grey and the 10% one is yellow. Wonder what it will look like in the morning?

Anyway, won’t be attempting the 8×8 RGB LED thingy until the scales are sorted. Sometimes I just seem to need to solder stuff 😉

Just checked the humidity card of doom again:

Doomed!

Doomed!

That’s definitely gone a bit pink. Good job I got it soldered last night then…
